Senior Linux Administrator

Reporting Location: New Orleans, LA (90% Remote*)

LCAT: Senior Professional System Administrator

*Currently remote work. Must be willing to occasionally travel to reporting location in the future if needed.*

Job Description:

Join LTC Solutions and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Personnel Modernization (PersMod) program is seeking a Sr. Linux Administrator to join their team in New Orleans, LA. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with   network engineers. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Interacts with users and   evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. 

  • Create and Maintain Amazon Web Services (AWS) Environment
  • Provide LINUX administration in the following functions: LINUX server deployment, optimization, application design / architecture, system upgrades and patching.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose advanced LINUX server issues, including reliability issues, performance concerns, and software bugs.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of existing and new technologies and services in support of program / project initiatives.
  • Acknowledgement and Remediation of findings in the weekly vulnerability scan remediation process (ACAS) 
  • Perform DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) on systems as necessary 
  • Ensure Operating System is in compliance with DoD-mandated directives


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (4 years of additional experience may be substituted)
  • 10+ years of work experience
  • Candidate should have good written and verbal communication skills, and should be able to work efficiently individually or in a team environment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current DoD Secret Clearance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Linux administrator. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7, preferred. 
  • Strong UNIX shell scripting experience
  • Unix Security Framework knowledge (PAM, KDC/LDAP, SSH key management, etc.)
  • DOD 8570 IA Level II Certification required (i.e. Security+ CE)
  • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG)
  • Perform Installation, Patching, Backups and Recovery
  • LDAP/DNS Management 

  

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Experience with RedHat Directory Server or other LDAP implementation, design and implementation
  • Experience with automation tools (i.e Puppet Chef or Ansible
  • AWS certification preferred
  • Experience with AWS Server EC2 Server Creation and Maintenance
  • RMF Compliance Controls
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, AWS Certified Information Security Manager, Firewall Management
  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Virtualization and Managing Virtual Machines
